Stages 0, 1 and 2 of building your American Legend home

Stages 0, 1 and 2 of building your American Legend home

Building a home can be an intimidating process. That’s why we try to make building your American Legend home as simple and organized as possible, with a team of professionals to help you navigate every step. Our homebuilding process is divided into 10 stages. Let’s explore stages 0, 1 and 2.

Stage 0
There are several parts of the homebuilding process that need to occur prior to the beginning of construction.

  • Your homesite will undergo an intensive third-party soil test. Necessary steps will be taken to ensure soil conditions are optimal for your home’s foundation.
  • Permits, engineering and floor plans must be approved, and your home’s “forms,” or the outer footprint of the home, will be set.
  • Foundation trenches will be dug and a temporary electric meter will be installed.
  • Plumbing components are placed inside the forms and inspected for leaks by your construction manager and by the city.

Stage 1
Let the fun begin! Stage 1 is where we begin construction on your home.

  • Once your home’s inspection is completed and passed, post tension cables are set and concrete is poured.
  • Once the concrete is cured, your home will undergo several more inspections – plumbers will inspect drainpipes to ensure proper placement, the forms are inspected and measured, and city and engineering inspections are conducted.
  • Once the concrete has gained strength, the post tension cables are stressed to maximize the concrete’s ability to support your home.

Stage 2
Stage 2 is where upward construction begins, and your home will begin to take shape. Here, rough grading is done to establish efficient homesite drainage and the frame walls are set. Once the entire frame is completed, your home will progress to Stage 3.
